How Cosmo Came to Be

Cosmo was founded by two Princeton alumni with a shared mission: to provide high-quality, personalized online tutoring that is both accessible and affordable.

Through their academic journeys, our founders saw firsthand how transformative exceptional education can be, and how difficult it is for many families to access it. This gap inspired Cosmo: a modern learning platform designed to bring premium 1-on-1 tutoring in math and English (ELA) to students everywhere.

Today Cosmo delivers a top-tier academic support system that is approachable, highly effective, and built to maximize each student's potential.

Based in Silicon Valley, we leverage technology to make learning more personalized, engaging, and results-driven. Our focus on math and ELA ensures students build strong foundational skills that support long-term academic success.

Curriculum Development

At Cosmo, our curriculum is designed with intention and backed by proven learning science. Developed by a team of in-house education experts, our curriculum is aligned with state standards and Common Core benchmarks , ensuring that students stay on track with school expectations while building deeper mastery.

Each student receives a personalized learning plan , carefully crafted by their matched tutor. Before every 1-on-1 session, tutors prepare customized materials based on the student's goals, performance data, and feedback history.

This thoughtful approach allows us to deliver high-impact tutoring sessions that are both efficient and deeply tailored. Our commitment to detail ensures that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically.

Partnering with Families, Schools, and Communities

Cosmo is built not only for families but also for schools, nonprofits, and educational organizations looking to expand access to high-quality tutoring.

We offer flexible partnership models:

  • Bulk Tutoring Programs: Schools and organizations can purchase tutoring sessions in volume, providing students with consistent, high-quality academic support at scale.
  • Community & Nonprofit Partnerships: We collaborate with NGOs and institutions to deliver targeted educational programs for underserved students.
  • Give-Back Initiative: For every student referred to Cosmo through a partner organization, we donate $100 back to support that organization's development and impact efforts.

In addition, Cosmo actively contributes through donation-based programs, including providing subsidized tutoring to students in need.
